Empire Sounds was founded in the summer of 2003. The company started off making mix tapes for friends. After masterminding the art of mixing and scratching on the turntables.
Empire
Sounds then moved on to audio production. The company started off with an analog workstation recorder and a simple hand held mic. Now Empire Soundz studio is
equipped with digital and computer recording programs like many of the top mainstream labels.
After undergoing the struggle of audio production and much more, Empire Soundz earned the slogan musical engineers.
Jamaican music continues to make its mark with new artistes such a Junior Gong. This artiste the song of the late and great Bob Marley has began to make serious in roads in music for today's people and generation. The changing landscape of the new sounds has forced Reggae and Dancehall to become relevant. In an effort to keep up there has been many
collaborations between American mainstream hip-hop, R and B and hardcore rap with rhythms from the island and blending both genres to create what I would say is "cool musically". However will it be the music for today,
tomorrow and possibly for forever.
Unfortunately these songs continue to be good for up to a
maximum 30 weeks on the charts after which the song is lost in the blitz of new tunes pulsating from radios all over the US, Canada and the UK. Its not that people are just fond of oldies as they are called, but the fact is songs that mix new beats with old "true rhythms" tend to do so much better than the newer beats.
It is very sad because most songs for today lack true composition skills. In lyrics that mean nothing more than speaking to a specific incident and real has no place in the real world.
Songs of freedom and songs of protest will live on forever as many people remember struggles and hard times but there are the odd love and romantic songs that will be relevant for decades to come.
